In 1971, the Nazareth Bay Secondary School opened its doors with both junior high and senior high students. With the construction of Bertha C. Boschulte Junior High School, Nazareth Bay School became a Senior High School with the first graduation being held in 1973. Bill No. 6322; Act No.3656 was passed in 1975 to rename the school "Ivanna Eudora Kean High School" in honor of Miss Ivanna Eudora Kean, who served the Virgin Islands for 52 years as an educator. IEKHS is currently a comprehensive, public school serving a diverse student body in grades 9 through 12 on the island of St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands.
